This program is designed to provide Emergency Response Team Coordinators with the knowledge required to ensure their ERT is capable of responding to emergencies safely.
SafeResponse has developed this on-line training program on Emergency Response Planning. This includes personnel who are responsible for coordinating the activities of industrial Emergency Response Teams. This includes responsibilities associated with training equipment and procedures related to emergency response.
Certificates of completion may be printed by the participant once a score of 70% or greater is achieved. The participant may take the quiz as many times as necessary in order to reach the 70% score. A representative from your employer will need to document your participation by signing the certificate.
In addition, each participant must complete the training on an individual basis. If you ask someone else to go through the program for you, you will not learn the information you will need to ensure the health and safety of Emergency Response Team members. This will render your certificate null and void.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in its standard on industrial fire brigades (29 CFR 1910.156) requires that employers provide fire brigade leaders and training instructors with training and education that is more comprehensive than that provided to the general membership of the fire brigade.
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has also adopted a standard on Industrial Fire Brigades (NFPA 600). This standard requires that industrial fire brigade members designated as leaders shall receive training and education commensurate with their response duties. Like OSHA, NFPA also requires that such training must be more comprehensive than that provided to other brigade members.
